Looking for gift ideas?

This little gem of a space is where we make available a range of publications and cultural collectibles by our exhibiting artists, guest speakers, and Atlanta-based talent. Everything we sell is either locally produced or related to our programming. Plus, our members get discounts on their SHOP purchases! (P.S. Membership makes a great gift too!)

Featured during our Sex Drive exhibition are Larry Jens Anderson’s Gay Merit Badges. In June 2000, the Boy Scouts won their case and are legally allowed to discriminate and exclude homosexuals. Since gays and lesbians are denied the chance to earn merit badges the artist thought they should have their own. Wear them with pride and realize we all have one thing the leaders of the BSA do not have: a sense of humor. Six Gay Merit Badges available at $20 each: Closet Case, Fairy, Fruit, Gay Marriage, Lesbian Marriage, Muff Diver.

Program-related items include our Substitute Teacher catalogue, The Artist’s Guide by Jackie Battenfield, The Oath and other DVDs by Laura Poitras, Don’t You Feel Better by Jaimie Warren, Artadia’s 5 Cities / 41 Artists, and much more. We’ve also got multiples by Larry Jens Anderson and Joe Peragine; jewelry by Heidi Aishman Designs and HellCat Jewelry; media from Dust-to-Digital, J&L Books, and Nexus Press; the latest issues of Art Lies and Art Papers magazines; water-ground grits and locally harvested honey from the Hambidge Center; and hand-printed note cards, gift tags, and coasters from the Atlanta Printmakers Studio.

The Art Life: On Creativity and Career

Our new book, The Art Life: On Creativity and Career by Stuart Horodner, brings together words of wisdom about the philosophical and practical issues that affect art-making and the marketplace. Many of the contributors have taken part in exhibitions and programs at ACAC from 2007 to 2011. More info HERE
