Resource Room

Resource Room

The Resource Room was established in 2006 to be a social and educational space featuring books, catalogs, periodicals, and digital media that focus on contemporary art and visual culture. A community bulletin board provides info about art events and exhibitions and free Wi-Fi access is available. The original room design was created by New York-based artist Charles Goldman.

FUNDRED Project

The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center is proud to participate as a collection site for internationally recognized artist Mel Chin’s FUNDRED DOLLAR BILL Project, and has converted the Resource Room into a bank vault for the creation and display of locally produced FUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS. Once this nationwide project reaches its goal of 3 million artworks, an armored truck will pick up the $300,000,000 in art currency and deliver it to Washington DC in a request for an equal exchange of $300,000,000 in funds to support the implementation of OPERATION PAYDIRT’S solution to lead-related health and quality-of-life issues still challenging post-disaster New Orleans. Through the simple gesture of creating a hand drawn bill, everyone can take part in this giant performance to support the rebuilding of New Orleans from below the ground up. FUNDRED activities are free and child, group, and school-friendly; regular gallery admission applies to view the exhibitions.
