Creative Lives & Careers: David Diao

David Diao, exhibiting artist in our current exhibition Painters Panting, is also a contributor to our new book, The Art Life: On Creativity and Career. His work brings together a wide range of subjects and sources, including his Chinese-American identity, statistics of painter Barnett Newman’s production and sales history, and modern architecture and design. His recent canvases examine the realities and fantasies of his own career. He discusses art and life with Artistic Director Stuart Horodner.

Plus, it’s a Westside Arts District 3rd Saturday Art Walk, so take a walk on the Westside! Visit the many excellent galleries, shops, and restaurants in our neighborhood, 12-5pm.
