Guest Lecture: Dan Cameron
11:00am

Dan Cameron is one of the art world’s most provocative and knowledgeable curators. This is a rare opportunity to hear him talk about the artists and exhibitions he is most excited about. In 2008, Cameron organized Prospect.1 New Orleans, the largest biennial of international art in the United States, and a heartfelt effort to bring attention to the uniqueness of NOLA. Many of Atlanta’s arts professionals and enthusiasts went to see this exhibition and we’re sure that he will appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Cameron is Director of Visual Arts at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans. He has organized numerous large-scale and international exhibitions, including Dirty Yoga, the 2006 Taipei Biennial; and NY Interrupted at pkm Gallery, Beijing, 2006-07 among others. While Senior Curator at the New Museum (1995-2006), he organized retrospective exhibitions on the works of Eugenio Dittborn, Paul McCarthy, Cildo Meireles, Faith Ringgold, Carolee Schneemann, David Wojnarowicz, Martin Wong, and others.
