Education at the Contemporary

A cornerstone of the Contemporary’s mission is to inform diverse audiences that contemporary art encompasses multi-sensory forms of expression in which aesthetic, cultural and social meanings are exposed and debated.

The Contemporary’s Education and Outreach Program promotes public understanding through the appreciation of contemporary art and its relationship to our everyday lives. Artist's talks, panel discussions, and other exchanges of ideas accompany each exhibition. Workshops and trips act to broaden perspectives, inspiring strategies to stimulate critical thinking and cultural activism.
