Film: A Great Day in Harlem (1995)
Documentary by Jean Bach
In August of 1958, photographer Art Kane assembled 57 of the greatest jazz musicians of all time in front of a Harlem brownstone for a legendary photo shoot. Interviews, home movies, and rare archival performances are featured. Dr. Fred Taylor, Ethnomusicologist, Georgia State University, will lead a discussion following the screening.

Open Studios Fundraiser

Visit the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center Studio Artists in their workspaces, while enjoying live music, food, and drinks in our courtyard. This is our fourth annual event, and an occasion to mix, mingle, and meet fellow art enthusiasts.

Four artists chosen by a guest curator will discuss their current projects for 15 minutes each. This event is a cross between a studio visit and show-and-tell, allowing for local artists and audiences to get to know each other. Questions and answers follow the presentations.
